Harris Co. Nuthatches

This morning I made a quick trip to Spring Creek Park in the north of the county and was successful with White-breasted Nuthatches, watching a pair for about an hour. Also found a Eastern Screech-Owl on a roost and finished with a Brown-headed Nuthatch before leaving. Otherwise just large numbers of Chipping Sparrows and Pine Warblers. An afternoon visit to Jesse Jones Nature Center didn’t turn up anything unusual, just a single Blue-headed Vireo among lots of Brown Creepers and the regulars.
