Home Patch: Fantastic Sunday Morning

The park was swamped with migrants today, tons of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and among them Black-and-white Warblers, Yellow Warblers, Northern Waterthrush, Yellow-breasted Chats (2), and finally Canada Warbler (possibly 2). I also saw a male and female Mourning Warblers, best views I have ever had. The female sat and preened out in the open at eye level, while the male was out on the trail at some point feeding along the edge. Alder Flycatchers were plentiful and vocal. Two Great-crested Flycatchers plucked fruit. Over the soccer field a Bank Swallow was mixed in with Barn Swallows. Indigo and Painted Buntings in the weeds.
